This page is designed to help you when planning your vacation in Florida WESTON HILLS The Community Weston Hills is a select, gated residential community located on the US 27, 2 miles north of the junction with the US 192. Having both permanent residents and vacation homes, it provides the holidaymaker with the chance to experience the true American lifestyle! Surrounded by open fields and natural wetlands the community is a peaceful haven after a day at the theme parks or the coast. Many of the rental homes have spectacular views from their sundecks. All new building in the community has finished and the contractors' vehicles long gone, so guests can be reassured of a quiet day's sunbathing. On site facilities include two community pools, tennis courts, volleyball, playground and interactive pool for the kids, and within 5 minutes drive, you can find a selection of golf courses including Highlands Reserve, Kings Ridge and Legends. If you haven't walked enough around the shops or parks, why not get some exercise walking around the pavements in the community and have a chat with the locals? There are also walking trails in the countryside behind (but go well shod and watch out for the wildlife!). The location Weston Hills is only 10 miles from Disney, reached in approx 15 minutes by driving south on the US 27 and east along the US192. Universal and Sea World are easily reached by going further east along the US 192 to the I4 junction and heading east. If the traffic is heavy on the US192, we recommend guests to turn left at the junction of US192/Black Lake Road. This runs parallel with the 192 until you reach the T-junction with Sherberth Road. Turn left here and follow the road to the traffic lights. Turn right at the lights and you are on Disney property, at the end of the Osceola Parkway by the entrance to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Follow the signs to whichever Disney Park you want, or continue until you see the Gaylord Palms Resort and turn onto the I4 here. If you want to visit the Gulf Coast, take the US27 south to the junction with the I4 and turn right (west) towards Tampa. You can be at Busch Gardens in less than an hour, or on the beach at Clearwater in just over the hour! Out on the US 27 there are a number of petrol stations, 7-11 grocery store and Walgreens pharmacy, close by. The main local shops are only 2 minutes away where Woodridge Plaza provides a Winn Dixie supermarket, post office, bank, pizza takeaway, dry cleaners, dentist and hairdresser. Just a bit further on, around the corner on the US 192, there is Summer Bay with a Publix supermarket, video shop, jewellers, hairdresser and nail salon, pizza and Chinese takeaways, Doctor, and library where guests can access the Internet. Dining is not a problem! The US 192 has more restaurant options than you could wish for, or drive down the US 27 to the I4 junction for a further selection. The things you may not have tried before Want to try something different? How about a trip to the Lake Ridge Winery? They have wine tastings and a shop, sometimes craft and music events. It is located north on the US 27 about 20 minutes away. Lake Louisa State Park is only 5 minutes north of Weston Hills. If you don't want to go the beach, they have one on the lakeside with picnic tables, nature trails and wildlife! Or visit Clermont itself, north on US 27, then left on US 50 and follow the signs for 'historic downtown'. It's a pretty town with old style shops, a lake with walks, and look out for special events, especially on the first Friday of the month or at holiday times. Depending upon the season, you can 'Pick your own Citrus' or ride on a swamp buggy at one of the citrus groves just north of Weston Hills on the US 27. If you want a piece of the action but be far enough away to enjoy a holiday without it, Weston Hills is the place to be. |
